Colorado ranks in the top 10 in U.S. exports for two major commodity categories, Wheat and Beef/Veal. In 2018, cattle and dairy products made up nearly 60% of the state’s agricultural production.
In the latest USDA Ag Census we found that Colorado farmers produced and sold $7.4 billion dollars worth of agricultural products in 2017. In 2018, Colorado was the number 4 exporter of beef and veal and the number 9 exporter of wheat in the United States.
The top 5 counties in terms of agricultural sales in Colorado were Weld County, Yuma County, Logan County, Morgan County, and Kit Carson County. These counties make up 61% of the state’s total agricultural sales.
